The Cotswold Company is preparing to open its 17th UK showroom at 44 Foregate Street in Chester before the end of 2026, creating seven new roles.
The 6,500 sq ft location occupies a prominent Grade II-listed building in the city centre. Formerly a public house, the property is undergoing a complete transformation ahead of the opening.
The showroom will present furniture and accessories across living, dining, bedroom, kitchen and office settings. Collections will include Chester, Inglesham, Elkstone Oak and Camille, alongside a built-in chair wall designed to broaden the seating offer.
Seven bedroom settings are planned, together with freestanding kitchen furniture, office pieces and accessories. The space will also include ready-made curtains, a dedicated lighting display, a mattress testing hub and an integrated Upholstery Hub with full-length fabric options and consultation space.
The Chester location will carry The Cotswold Company’s forthcoming National Trust collaboration. The collection comprises two ranges informed by architectural and historic details identified during research visits to National Trust properties in the Cotswolds, combining antique-style references with contemporary functionality.
The opening continues the retailer’s expansion of its physical showroom network alongside its digital-led model. Earlier in 2026, the business opened locations in Kingston and at Redbrick, while its wider omnichannel activity has included the launch of a furniture range through Marks & Spencer.
The project follows the brand’s 2025 opening in another restored Grade II-listed building in Knutsford, where it established its first North West showroom. The Chester store is expected to begin trading before the end of 2026.
