Chelsea In Bloom 2026 Is Out Of This World

-

Chelsea in Bloom 2026 has returned to the streets around Chelsea, bringing large-scale floral installations to shopfronts, restaurants, hotels, pubs and public spaces during the week of RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Running from 18 to 24 May 2026, the free festival is produced by Cadogan in collaboration with the Royal Horticultural Society. This year’s theme, Out of this World, has invited participating businesses to interpret ideas linked to space travel, astrology and spiritual symbolism through temporary floral displays.

The event extends RHS Chelsea Flower Show beyond the Royal Hospital Chelsea, where the main show runs from 19 to 23 May 2026. While the flower show remains a major horticultural event in its own right, Chelsea in Bloom creates a public-facing trail through the surrounding retail and hospitality area.

This year, more than 140 shops, restaurants, pubs and hotels have taken part, with displays appearing across key Chelsea locations including King’s Road, Sloane Street, Sloane Square, Pavilion Road and Duke of York Square. Cadogan has also commissioned six large-scale floral art installations for the 2026 edition, including a Zodiac-inspired constellation at Sloane Square, a UFO over Pavilion Road and a lunar landscape at Duke of York Square.

For retail and hospitality operators, Chelsea in Bloom has become a visible moment for seasonal place-making. The event gives brands and venues a shared creative framework, while allowing individual businesses to use façade design, floral sculpture and street-level installations to attract visitors and support footfall across the area.

Across Chelsea, the displays drew steady crowds throughout the day, with visitors stopping to photograph the installations and share the spectacle across social media. The level of public interaction underlined how Chelsea in Bloom has become both a visual merchandising showcase and a wider destination event.

Among this year’s recognised displays, Astrid & Miyu was named Best Floral Display by the Chelsea in Bloom 2026 judging panel. Chelsea Heritage Quarter and N. Peal received Highly Commended awards, while The Conran Shop received the Innovation Award.

As part of the Window Walk, presented in association with the Creative Retail Awards, SDEA and 365 Retail, this gallery brings together a selection of displays seen across Chelsea during the 2026 festival. The images show how retailers, hospitality operators and local venues have interpreted the Out of this World theme through colour, scale and spectacle.
