This Plastic Free July, Cosy Cottage Soap celebrates saving 225K plastic bottles from landfill in the last 12 months with the launch of the indulgent Cosy Spa range. A luxurious collection of refillable relaxation must-haves, the natural bathing and skincare producer has designed the range to show that beautiful spa quality products don’t need planet-harming packaging. As with all Cosy Cottage products, the range is hand made with all natural, sustainably sourced ingredients and is palm oil and cruelty-free too.
The launch coincides with Greenpeace’s findings that Brits dispose of 96.6 billion pieces of plastic packaging waste every year. Cosy Cottage Soap is extending its range of bathing, skincare and household cleaning essentials to help people switch to self-care gifts and treats that can be refilled, reused and readily recycled.
The Cosy Spa range includes Lavender Soy Wax Spa Melts and Candles (30cl) plus two essential oil blends – Cosy Chill and Cosy Calm – available as a massage oil to help re-create a relaxing spa experience at home and a pulse point oil for on-the-go. With a focus on reducing waste, the products are made to last.
Suitable for any wax burner, each Cosy Spa Lavender Soy Wax Melt lasts for 20 hours. A box of four 28g melts retails for £9.50. The 30cl Lavender Soy Wax Candle has a burn time of 30-40 hours and RRP is £19.50. Hand poured from sustainably sourced soy wax and infused with natural fragrances; the candles and melts are vegan-friendly and free from the potentially harmful synthetic limonoids found in some products.
A delicious mix of lemon-scented myrtle, lavender and vetiver, Cosy Chill is renowned for its stress-relieving and mood-enhancing benefits. Whereas Cosy Calm’s relaxing and sleep-inducing properties come from the vetiver, frankincense and lavender blend. These unique essential oil blends are distilled from natural aromatics. Available as a Massage Oil, which uses a soothing, nut-free base of grapeseed, castor and sunflower oils. The dropper style bottle distributes the small amount needed for an at home facial or whole body massage, 100ml retails for a special introductory price of £12.60. The Cosy Spa Pulse Point Oil has a custom base of jojoba and grapeseed oils and comes in a handy glass roller bottle at an introductory price of, £6.50 RRP for 10ml. Perfect for slipping into purses, pockets and hand luggage, apply to wrists and temples throughout the day to de-stress and unwind.
The packaging is of course fully reusable or recyclable and the wax melts box, massage oil and pulse point oil bottles can be re-filled and, upon return, the glass candle containers are reused.
Clara Challoner Walker, Founder of Cosy Cottage Soap, comments: “For us, every month is plastic-free, and sustainability remains at the heart of all of our collections. The new Cosy Spa range was designed to ensure products are recyclable and reusable. That way, when our customers repurchase their favourite items, they can enjoy moments of natural handmade luxury and reduce their waste at the same time.
“It still shocks me that single use plastic bottles which end up on our beaches or in oceans can remain there for up to 450 years, making it all the more important to limit plastic-waste.”
Cosy Spa products are available online and at Cosy Cottage Soap’s shop in Malton, Yorkshire. The range is also available on wholesale to independent retailers and professional hair & beauty salons.
